Survitec are currently seeking a Service Technician to carry out inspection and service works on lifting equipment and support the UK business including offshore installations.
Role Responsibilities
- Inspect and service a variety of lifting equipment on customer premises, offshore and in the workshop.
- Carry out repairs & planned preventative maintenance activities on mechanical and electrical cranes and other lifting equipment.
- Reacting to customer breakdowns.
- Potential requirement to provide rotational cover for out of hours customer response.
- Carry out equipment surveys and provide quotations for lifting equipment.
- Provide customer lifting solutions and technical advice.
- Carry out testing and produce reports utilising company standard documentation.
- Ensure all parts used in the works are correctly booked to the correct order.
- Operate and maintain static plant equipment used in conjunction with maintenance activities.
- Report any failures of equipment in accordance with LOLER regulations
- Responsible for ensuring all documentation is completed to highest standard.
- Work in accordance with the local quality control procedures to ensure full traceability of all equipment during the maintenance process.
- Work autonomously on site in a safe and professional manner ensuring a high standard of work.
- Plan works prioritising equipment dependant on customer requirements and historic trends.
- Liaise on a day to day basis with engineering administration and management including central hire management.
- Act as an ambassador for Survitec during any routine audits or customer visits.
- React at short notice to the requirements of the business.
- Work throughout all areas and locations of the business as required.
- Provide cover and support for internal shortages or high workloads throughout the business as required.
Role Requirements
- Have a good knowledge of LOLER requirements.
- Preferably hold or working towards LEEA IP1, IP2 & IP3 as a minimum.
- Competent to perform inspections of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER.
- Ability to carry out all aspects of Rigging, Slinger and Banksman duties.
- Full UK Driving Licence required.
- Have a flexible approach with regards to working hours, and the ability to work extra hours if required.
- Have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, via all means of communication (written and verbal) & IT literate.
- Have excellent organisational skills and awareness of the requirement for efficient time planning.
- Be able to remain calm under pressure and have the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and targets.
- Have the ability to work within a team or on their own with minimal guidance.
- Ability to perform splicing of wire ropes.
- A willingness to undertake future professional development.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties deemed appropriate and commensurate with the post.
