Assistant Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Manager

 

Job Responsibilities:

Establishment, communication, deployment and maintenance of company Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental related policies and procedures; including the preparation and maintenance of relevant supporting documents, and the provision of training as required.

Plan, organize and take lead to drive safety initiatives and promote safety culture within the company and sub-contractors.

Ensuring the companies compliance with relevant flag state/Class approvals/IMCA, ISO 9001 QMS and Health & Safety and Environmental requirements through formal/informal and internal/external audits and leading the Audit Program.

Perform all essential Audits and inspections internally and/or by third party or client as and when required.

Implement, maintenance, reviewing of company’s Safety Management System (SMS) work manuals and procedures.

Implement and work in accordance with Group Quality Risk Management system to ensure that risks are adequately controlled.

Take lead to conduct safety site inspections to ensure compliance to legal legislations and organizational requirements. Ensure all appropriate investigation of discrepancies, error, complaints, failure or findings are properly closed, documented and communicated.

Assist the sub-contractors to establish proper risk assessment by identifying hazards and to recommend suitable control measures to mitigate these risks.

Conduct incident investigation and prepare concise investigation reports with in accordance to the regulatory requirement.

Develop effective communication materials and collaterals (include but not limited to safety messages, advisories, campaigns, posters, etc.) for Group outreach and learning.

Any ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned.

 

Requirements

Diploma/Degree in any discipline with at least 4 years of relevant working experience in Marine or related Industry.

Certified ISM/ISO auditor qualification will be an advantage

Good leadership and proven managerial skills to be able to lead and motivate the marine operations team

Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Meticulous, resourceful, team player and possess strong organization skills.

Internet savvy and proficient in MS Office applications (ie. Outlook, Excel, Words and Powerpoint etc)

The ability to plan and prioritize work and work under high pressure to tight deadlines yet flexible and adaptable to changing needs and situations
