Job Advert Description

Survitec is currently seeking an Service Engineer to carry out inspection, planned preventative and corrective maintenance to customer equipment.  The role will also provide comprehensive assessments enabling accurate quotation within specified deadlines.

The Role:

  • Be familiar with all aspects of engineering techniques to support F-35 GSE maintenance requirements.
  • To produce accurate written assessments including recommended corrective actions for customer equipment.
  • To undertake planned preventative and corrective maintenance for customer equipment in accordance with quoted works.
  • Responsible for the final condition report of customers’ equipment ensuring serviceability state is accurately defined and highlighting any aspect of operating with known defects.
  • Carry out examination and testing of lifting & tooling equipment in accordance with the relevant standards
  • Responsible for meticulous tool control and storage including removed parts as work in progress.
  • Ensure that allocated equipment, tools etc. are maintained, used and stored in a safe and correct manner and all required calibrations are within date.
  • Be flexible and enthusiastic to undertake further training as required to complete all aspects of the role.
  • Assist with stock take and provide ongoing assistance to ensure min/max stock quantities are reviewed & maintained.
  • Ensure all parts and stock assets are correctly allocated to the works on the relevant documentation.
  • Work in accordance with the local quality control procedure to ensure full traceability of all equipment in the maintenance process.
  • To provide estimations for additional works direct with customer services teams.
  • Liaise on a day to day basis with engineering administration and management.
  • Liaise with client representatives whilst conducting work and reporting detailed failure reports and remedial actions.
  • Carry out inspection, maintenance, damage assessments and quotations for repairs for all hire company hire equipment.
  • To assist with the continual improvement of services delivered, meeting both internal and external quality standards and audit processes.
  • To act as an ambassador for Survitec and communicate any potential sales enquiries back to the relevant teams.
  • To react at short notice to the requirements of the business and customers both on and offshore.
  • Provide cover and support for internal shortages or high workloads throughout the business as required.
  • Expected as reasonably practicable to work throughout all areas and locations of the business as required.

The Requirements:

  • Hold minimum NVQ3 Engineering Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • Be familiar with all aspects of engineering techniques to support F-35 GSE maintenance requirements.
  • Experience working on fast jet Ground Support Equipment.
  • Good underpinning knowledge of all engineering principals (hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel, refrigeration, electrical etc.).
  • Be able to work autonomously on site in a safe and professional manner ensuring a high standard of work.
  • Expected to travel and support Survitec sites and remote customer locations throughout the UK as required.
  • Have a flexible approach regards working hours, and the ability to work extra hours if required.
  • Have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and awareness of the requirement for efficient time planning.
  • Be able to remain calm under pressure and be able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Have the ability to work within a team or on your own with minimal guidance.
