Survitec specializes in the manufacturing and servicing of aviation, defence, and marine safety and life-saving equipment. We are looking to hire a Technical Manager for our Vancouver (Delta) location.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Technical Manager will provide support to all departments within the company and will be the local resource on Group Product Information through communication with OEM Technical Contacts. He/she will actively propose and follow through with continuous improvement initiatives and will be a key player in large projects.

Duties include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Review incoming sales drawings from Sales; propose installation arrangements; supervise outgoing drawing quality and accuracy
Prepare and submit documents for review and approval for maintenance and modifications to existing products. Provide input to new developing regulations
Advise Sales on the technical and engineering aspects of proposals
Work with Survitec Technical Offices to introduce products to North America. Gain technical knowledge of Survitec products to provide a reference to the company and external service providers
Prepare drawings and instructions, maintain service manuals for the company’s products, and develop methods and modifications for continuous improvement of manufactured and assembled products
Work with suppliers to design and manufacture those components that cannot be provided in-house
Control the product definition with the bill of materials. Update as necessary
Plan and implement discrete projects, as well as supervise external projects
Maintain records of all projects, submissions, and modifications for future reference by the customer, the authorities or other Company personnel
Maintenance and development of ASP.NET VB based web applications
Work with several databases to extract data and design queries in SQL
Assist the Quality Department in development of policies and procedures, finding root cause of issues, and maintaining a functional system


At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience working within a Marine environment and knowledge of industry regulatory requirements is favorable
Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
Proficient with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and Access skills are mandatory
Experience using an ERP System
Extensive hands-on experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
A high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Excellent time management and allocation of priorities
Proven efficiency working within a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and team player

This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary plus group benefits after 3 months of employment. Normal office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm, but due to the nature of this position the hours will vary, and flexibility is required.
