Procurement Executive


This position is responsible for the operational purchasing and local sourcing activities in Singapore, in collaboration with the regional and global procurement teams to drive cost efficiencies for the business.

There is a strong drive towards supply chain excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and developing best practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for the incumbent to be exposed to various business functions, learning more about the end-to-end supply chain and to make an impact to the business.


The position will report to the Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager, Singapore and will be based in Singapore. Close cooperation with the regional purchasing/sourcing teams is required to ensure best-in-class procurement, delivering both quality and cost-effective solutions to meet customer requirements.


Job Responsibilities:

Support the Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager in the sourcing, evaluation and procurement of supplies for local and regional market use.

Analyse the spend cube data to identify cost reduction opportunities and implementing sourcing management process rigour.

Build, document and maintain the Supplier Master Vendor Database for Singapore. Create and maintain all basic data attached to order processing and re-ordering (service levels, A-B-C suppliers, lead-times and other inputs required).

Preparation and issue of Request for Proposals (RFP)/ Request for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers for new products / component parts.

Ensure continuous communication on the availability and lead times of products with all stakeholders in the logistics chain in relation to the purchase order at hand

Follow up with suppliers in order to meet agreed and confirmed delivery dates; per purchase order and includes updating of purchase orders accordingly

Pro-actively monitor increase or decrease in demand of products and advise/verify with Purchasing/Supply team members.

Working closely with the Central Procurement Team and Global Category Managers, provide support and feedback regarding the global procurement strategy and execution.

Monitoring of supplier performance against agreed key metrics (such as order fulfilment rate, OTIF, spend variance).

Work with internal stakeholders and with suppliers to identify continuous improvement opportunities, both on cost and quality.

Responsible to ensure that practices at all times comply with the regulatory approvals, permits and certification for all products and services within the defined quality, labour conditions, health, safety & environmental systems, procedures and business practices of the organisation.

Job Requirements:

Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of relevant procurement/ purchasing experience, preferably on direct spend categories.

Demonstrate understanding of procurement strategy, including category management, market analysis, sourcing tactics and supplier management.

Experienced with negotiating with suppliers and delivering favourable results for the Company.

Proven ability to manage different ways of working and managing complexity.

Ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks, working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to influence without formal authority.

Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

Good written and oral skills in English.

Proficiency in one of the following ERP and/or Procure-to-Pay (P2P) systems, such as SAP, Ariba, Navision, Oracle NetSuite, Sage or IFS

Knowledge in managing Dangerous Goods (DG) logistics (IATA DGR and/or IMDG) would be highly desirable.

Knowledge in Continuous Improvement Methodology and Tools will have added advantage.

Experience in data analytics, quantitative modelling or use of Business Intelligence (BI) tools, such as PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau.
