Management

  • Maintain credit control team organisational structure sufficiently to meet all goals and objectives
  • Properly motivate the credit and collection staff
  • Measure department performance with appropriate metrics
  • Provide the ongoing training of the credit staff
  • Manage relationship with the collection agency(s)
  • Manage relationship with credit reporting agency (currently D&B)
  • Manage relationships with sales department and other entities across the group

Credit Operations

  • Ensure compliance with the corporate credit policy
  • Recommended changes in the credit policy to senior management
  • Manage customer credit records
  • Monitor credit granting and updating process
  • Personally investigate the largest customers credit applications
  • Personally visit the largest customers to establish relations
  • Monitor periodic credit reviews
  • Manage application on late fees
  • Producing weekly and monthly reporting on aged debt, overdues, and KPIs
  • Attending calls and providing commentary and explanations to other stakeholders
  • Ensure debtor cash collection performance in the team is maximised
  • Manage the payment collection process
  • Assisting with integration of credit control processes with other internal departments
  • Resolving queries and disputes with involvement of other internal departments
  • Ensuring the team allocates and reconciles receipts correctly and promptly

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with the identification of your own training needs and raising these accordingly.
  • Responsible for undertaking training, and continuing development as appropriate.
  • To assist, where appropriate, with addressing the training needs of colleagues.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties deemed appropriate and commensurate with the post.
  • Where applicable, responsible for abiding by SOP 266 Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (Human) – WDA(H) and perform relevant tasks contained within the procedure in line with training competencies set by Line Manager.
