The Regional Inventory Planner is responsible for management and control of inventory for one or more sites in the Region in line with the targets set. The Regional Inventory Planner decides what to have in inventory, how much to have in inventory and when to re-order (this includes re-ordering of the defined inventory portfolio per place). The Regional Inventory Planner is our specialist in inventory planning and management with predictable availability and minimum excess stock as his/her main objectives.


The position reports to the Regional Distribution Director, Americas.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and obtain approval for inventory targets based on market and business objectives
  • Set minimum and maximum inventory levels to optimise for OOS, OTIF and DIO
  • Build and maintain demand forecasts
  • Create, maintain and analyse inventory data, and order processing data
  • Actively participate in any structured and results-driven process to improve inventory efficiency over time
  • Actively follow up standard KPI measurement reports and create agreed additional KPI reports and provide miscellaneous analytical support attached to inventory management
  • Support Central Procurement Team with central supplier selection and agreements, as needed
  • Review major Regional cost categories, supported by Central Procurement Team
  • Review logistics strategies including alternative delivery routes, methods and reliance (insource vs outsource), as required within the Region
  • Additional responsibility for working capital support, including analysis of cash collection processes to optimise DSO, and supporting Finance on supplier invoice control
  • Ensure that practices at all times comply with the regulatory approvals, permits and certification for all products and services within the defined quality, labour conditions, health, safety & environmental systems, procedures and business practices of the organisation
