Job Advert Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a 45m£ turnover operation that includes production, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, safety, HR and finance
  • Manage the P & L for the facility, in line with group objectives and budget, and build a leadership with strong business acumen and financial focus
  • Using Lean methodologies and tools, ensure continuous improvement is embedded across all areas of the facility to improve efficiencies and quality, increase revenues and drive down costs
  • Drive performance management across the organisation, from the leadership team to the shop floor, through metrics and a performance development review process.
  • Responsible for adhering to customer, statutory and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Promote collaboration across all functions and with the other operational sites within the A & D Division
  • Develop and sustain a Sales and Operational Planning process to ensure alignment between customer demand, financial goals and operational/supply chain capacity
  • Make the Birkenhead facility a ‘Great place to work’ by promoting a positive engagement culture that ensures reward and benefits are aligned to job roles and performance
  • Build and coach a peak-performing leadership team and overall talent pool in support of continuous improvement and performance objectives
  • Act as an ambassador of Change ensuring all key stakeholders are fully engaged in transformation initiatives 

 

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience of at least 5 years in a similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment with full responsibility for a P & L and EBITDA
  • Analytical and be able to interpret and take appropriate actions based on data
  • Be familiar with value stream mapping
  • Strong quality assurance focus
  • Be able to demonstrate successful implementation of change initiatives
  • Lean and Six-Sigma practitioner
  • Sales & Operational Planning
  • Knowledge of Aerospace & Defence Products an advantage
  • Knowledge of Government contracts an advantage
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to dive into detail when required
  • Must be able to demonstrate proven leadership abilities
  • Capable of working on own initiative whilst being a key team player
  • Results driven-clear focus on achieving and exceeding targets
