Survitec are looking for a Configuration and Control Engineer. This role reports to the SDA Group Configuration Control Manager and is responsible for the control of all technical documentation. It supervises the work of a team writing technical documentation for engineers and manuals for technical and non-technical end-users. This role involves developing templates and specifications for final, published materials and controls engineering documentation platforms.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Conducts research using primary data sources and selects information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends
  • Controls all technical data, ensuring it is documented, stored, managed, maintained, controlled and accessed appropriately
  • Ensures technical author work is prepared for publication appropriately, providing guidance and editing support as needed, in line with Survitec style guidelines
  • Communicates local business priorities and action plans; explains how these relate to the wider Design Engineering strategy and action plan and the broader Survitec mission and vision. Motivates people to achieve local business goals
  • Manages and reports on team performance; sets appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and holds them accountable for achieving these. Takes appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives
  • Assigns short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines
  • Highlights shortcomings in compliance processes, systems and procedures and suggests appropriate improvements to the team’s ways of working
  • Supports data-driven analysis of department performance and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Provides training to the wider Engineering team, ensuring common understanding of the role and requirements of the Configuration and Control team in meeting the needs of Survitec end users and Customers, helping the wider team to meet those needs

Experience and qualification:

  • Educated to University degree / Post-graduate level
  • 3 - 6 years of general experience enables the role holder deal with most situations and advise others 
  • 1 year of managerial experience, supervising more junior colleagues is required
