Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensures that Survitec complies with its global and local regulatory and legal requirements, its own policies, governance frameworks, operating principles and Values
  • Utilises external tools to check the status of potential Survitec customers and their appropriateness for trade, including any sanctions or applicable regulations
  • Works with managers and colleagues to assess commercial processes to identify legal risk. Ensures identified risk is recorded and managed appropriately and takes corrective action to avoid future recurrence, escalating as necessary in the case of significant risk or identification of actual / potential breach
  • As part of the wider legal team, contributes to defining, implementing, managing and improving the policies, procedures, compliance framework and audit schedule that ensure Survitec remains within industry regulatory frameworks as well as designing and conducting training programmes for colleagues and third parties
  • Defines and implements compliance training for the business that develops understanding of key ethical principles, Survitec Values and compliance regulations affecting Survitec businesses and colleagues. Ensures individuals understand any key regulatory changes, updates and their part in operating within them
  • Works with the business to ensure appropriate contingency plans are in place that set guidelines on how to respond to a possible compliance breach
  • Supports development of a functional business plan and budget

Experience and qualification

  • Educated to University degree / Post-graduate master’s degree level preferably with some legal experience
  • 6 – 10 years of job-related experience, operating at fully competent level
  • 3 – 6 years of managerial experience, planning and managing resources to deliver business objectives
