Survitec are looking for two Technical Sales Managers to provide specialist liferaft product and business model knowledge. The role provides direct product knowledge and support to a range of Survitec functions, including Marketing, Sales and Customer Service. It provides direct technical support for the sales process and is responsible for increasing overall revenues for associated product categories.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Utilises deep understanding of Survitec customer markets and deep technical and commercial knowledge of specific product categories to develop and recommend appropriate and commercially sound customer solutions
  • Builds and maintains excellent relationships with customers, representing them effectively in the product development process, ensuring planned product innovations remain relevant and attractive to specific target markets
  • Supports various departments including Sales, Customer Service, Legal and Operations to build and present bespoke solutions; builds core presentation materials and supplements these with deep product insight to ensure sales presentations to decision makers and influencers leverage product benefits.  Asks relevant questions to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation
  • Develops a personal network within the sales function and provides Sales colleagues with technical support for customer presentations, trade shows and other events promote Survitec and enhance its reputation
  • Provides product knowledge training to a range of sales, customer service and engineering colleagues, to increase technical knowledge and equip colleagues to solve customer queries and problems. Acts as escalation point for complex issues and questions
  • Provides a technical review of the customer order specification, defining the scope of the order and ensuring accurate and appropriate costings and offer development
  • Where appropriate, engages with application engineer to drive detailed proposals and specifications; utilises Survitec systems to effectively communicate the final customer requirements and design to engineering and production teams
  • Monitors overall performance of the product category, identifying opportunities to drive product awareness and increase revenues, providing specialised product training or coaching to others throughout the organisation
  • Works with a range of stakeholders to gather detailed product feedback, carry out product and market analyses and support category management decisions

Experience and qualification:

  • Educated to university degree level
  • Knowledge of both direct and third parties distribution routes to market
  • 3 – 6 years of technical product experience, enabling the role holder to understand and support a range of technical queries
  • Managerial experience is preferred
